LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - The Louisville Metro Public Safety Committee voted to advance a piece of legislation that would add ‘federal, state, or local law enforcement officers’ to the city’s existing mask ordinance.
The clarification would prevent law enforcement agencies like ICE from concealing their identity with masks.
The proposal will now go onto be discussed at a Metro Council meeting on Thursday, Dec. 4.
Councilman JP Lyniger (D-6), who proposed the legislation , released the following statement on the committee vote:
“I want to take a moment to thank my colleagues for voting this out of committee today, but the job isn’t done. On Thursday, December 4th—just a few days from now—the amendment to the Mask Ordinance goes before the full Metro Council.
I urge the everyday people
