Anniston City Schools will be closed on Friday, Dec. 5 to allow families, staff, and supporters to travel safely and cheer on the Bulldogs football team as they compete in the state championships.

In a message to Anniston City families and community members, the school district highlighted the historic achievement of the Bulldogs' advancement to the state championships, emphasizing the dedication of athletes and the support of cheerleaders, band, managers, school personnel and administrators.

The makeup day for this closure will be Feb. 16, 2026.
