NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A 26-year-old man was arrested Saturday evening on felony reckless endangerment charges after families leaving the Nashville Zoo said they saw him waving a gun in the parking garage.

Police were called to the zoo parking garage around 7:45 p.m. as families were leaving the Zoolumination event. When officers arrived, they found Tyler Cole McKenzie passed out on the ground.

Police said McKenzie was so intoxicated that he couldn’t walk or speak. Officers found a loaded handgun in his waistband.

McKenzie was arrested for reckless endangerment, public intoxication, and possession of a gun while intoxicated. He’s being held on a $4,500 bond.

The zoo is busy during this time of year as tourists and locals come to see the light show and animals.
