The White House has been decorated for the Christmas season with a heartwarming theme. First Lady Melania Trump chose "Home is Where the Heart Is" as this year's special message, according to Axios . The decorations are much more traditional compared to her first time as First Lady, when she used bold red trees.

This year's design is classic and warm, featuring thousands of sparkling details throughout the building. The theme celebrates American values and family traditions that bring people together during the holidays. Although the East Wing was torn down for construction, Axios reports that the decorations still include special touches like "Be Best" ornaments, a unique Lego portrait of President Trump, and more than 10,000 colorful butterflies placed throughout the rooms.
