TEMPE, AZ (AZFamily) — Police said a man shot and killed his wife and her colleague outside a pizza shop at an East Valley strip mall Monday morning.

The shooting happened in front of a Little Caesars pizzeria near Rural and Guadalupe roads just after 9 a.m.

When officers arrived, they found 32-year-old Shaquille Simmons and 21-year-old Mary Visser, who were in critical condition. Police later confirmed that both of them died at the hospital. The pair worked at the Little Caesars.

The suspect, later identified as 27-year-old Benjaman Visser Jr., was found still at the scene with a gun in his hand and was detained, police said. He was then arrested and is being booked into jail.

According to police, Benjaman and Mary were married.
