MANHATTAN, Kan. — Bowling Green scored a signature win for third-year coach Todd Simon, going on the road and defeating Big 12 member Kansas State 82-66 on Monday at Bramlage Coliseum.
Kansas State was picked ninth in the Big 12’s preseason poll. The Wildcats won their first five games, a run that included victories over California, Tulsa, and Mississippi State, but have now lost three straight after dropping a one-point decision against Nebraska at the Hall of Fame Classic in Kansas City and falling by 17 at Indiana.
BGSU, meanwhile, improved to 6-2 after winning its third straight. The Falcons defeated Bucknell and Virginia Military Institute at the Fort Myers (Fla.) Tip-Off.
Sam Towns led Bowling Green with 27 points, while Javon Campbell and Javon Ruffin each had 17.
