KENNER, La. — Kenner police say 15 people were detained in a large-scale safety operation near the boat launch Friday night.
The department said the joint mission, which included, ICE, the FBI, DEA, and the Louisiana State Police, stemmed from years of complaints about noise, traffic, trash, and harassment in the area.
ICE confirmed that 13 undocumented people are now custody. When asked whether any of those detained were in the process of obtaining legal status or visas, an ICE spokesperson said, “Not that I’m aware of.”
