FAYETTEVILLE — Shreveport Evangel athlete Ashton Dawson reopened his recruitment Monday after being committed to Arkansas since June.

Dawson said he decided to reopen his recruiting after speaking with new Razorback coach Ryan Silverfield. He was recruited to play fullback by former coach Sam Pittman.

Dawson, 6-2 and 286 pounds, chose Arkansas over offers from Florida State, Troy and others. He is a consensus 3-star recruit.

He is the second commitment take back his pledge on Monday, joining 3-star offensive lineman Ashley Walker. Arkansas now has 15 commitment for the 2026 class.
