Two longtime City employees — Director of Recreation and Parks Alex Posada and Public Information Manager Mark van de Kamp — will be recognized at Tuesday's meeting for their decades of service to Santa Maria.
Posada started his career in 1977 as a recreation activity specialist and his 46-year career makes him the longest-tenured employee in the City's 120 year history, according to city information.
Posada served as the interim city manager for a year in 2023-24, ahead of the hiring of David Rowlands, but has served primarily as the director of recreation and parks, being named to the position in 1993.
