Nearly 3,000 Entergy New Orleans customers were without power Monday night as rain showers soaked the metro area.
The outage was reported at around 7:40 p.m. and largely concentrated to homes and businesses Uptown.
Entergy New Orleans spokesperson Beau Tidwell said the cause of the outage was still under investigation as of 9 p.m., though it was likely weather related.
"Entergy crews are working as quickly and safely as possible to restore service," Tidwell said.
A band of storms brought moderate to heavy rains to much of southeast Louisiana and the Mississippi Gulf Coast Monday night. Despite a few hours of continuous rains across New Orleans, no street flooding was reported to the city's emergency alert system, NOLA Ready.
