KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Planning summer vacations just got a little easier for families who have students in school in Kanawha County.

On Monday night, the Kanawha County School Board approved the school calendar for the 2026-2027 school year.

It has students starting back Aug. 19, 2026, and finishing up May 28, 2027.

Administrators said they believe several factors made this calendar more appealing than the other three they were considering.
