WASHINGTON — The Powerball jackpot will climb again to $775 million after nobody won the grand prize on Monday.
Three tickets matched the first five numbers to win $1 million but none of those had the correct Powerball. Those million-dollar winners are in California, Georgia and Illinois.
The steadily-climbing jackpot would be the second-largest Powerball won this year and Wednesday's drawing will rank among the top 10 largest jackpots in Powerball history. The prize pales in comparison to September's historic drawing , when two tickets sold in Missouri and Texas split a $1.8 billion jackpot — the second-largest U.S. lottery prize ever won.
Monday's drawing was the 37th drawing since the jackpot was last won Sept. 6, when the Missouri and Texas winners overcame odds of 1 in 292.2 mill
