WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) — Wichita business owners and residents packed into a District 1 Advisory Board meeting Monday night as the city once again revisits a proposal to redesign part of Douglas Avenue.
The project would reduce the roadway to three lanes between Washington and Grove, create a mix of angled and parallel parking, widen sidewalks and add safety and art features. City staff say the redesign aims to improve walkability and update a corridor that has not seen major improvements in decades.
