SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - The South Dakota Coyotes beat Drake in the opening round of the FCS playoffs on Saturday.

The Yotes were keeping up with the Bulldogs early.

The team opened up the scoring as the game went on, with two touchdowns in the 3rd quarter and one in the 4th.

USD football head coach Travis Johansen said, “Defensively just moving the ball and ultimately controlled the clock too much and really that was the difference in the 1st half was we both play a style that is going to limit possessions and when you allow one team to control the ball we didn’t give our offense enough possessions to kind of extend the lead there and so we just made sure that we assured some things up, some execution errors, felt there was a little bit of maybe rust off a bye week and cer
