CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) -- Illinois football finished off the regualr season with a win at home against in state rival Northwestern.
The win moved the Illini to a 12-2 record at home over the last two seasons.
With it being the last home game of the season it also marked the last time 30 players would run out onto the field, including outside linebacker Gabe Jacas who recorded two sacks during the game to move to #2 in career sacks at Illinois with 27 total.
Another senior recongnized quawrterback Luke Altmyer, who recorded his 22 win in program history.
Head Coach Bret Bielema said he credits the seniors and their leadership to winning eight or more games in back to back seasons for the first time since the 1989-90 season and said each senior has left their own legacy on the program.
