PORTLAND, Ore. — A Portland man with multiple past convictions for stalking again faces charges, most recently in connection with a Sandy Hook parent employed at Oregon Health and Science University.
According to a probable cause affidavit filed by a Multnomah County prosecutor, suspect Kevin Purfield is a "conspiracy theorist who seeks out and terrorizes families who have lost children in mass shootings, among others."
Purfield was first charged in Multnomah County back in 2013 , and later convicted of stalking and telephonic harassment, after contacting family members of those killed in a mass shooting at a movie theater in Aurora, Colo.
In 2019, Purfield was again convicted of stalking, this time targeting The Oregonian's then-editor Therese Bottomly.
