MOORESVILLE — Drew Neve scored 27 points as Carson’s boys basketball team smashed West Meck 87-65 on Saturday afternoon in the Phenom Hoops Thanksgiving tourney played at Lake Norman.
A 6-foot-4 junior, Neve had a 12-point second quarter that included two 3-pointers. That was the decisive quarter for the Cougars (3-0), as they took a 42-26 halftime lead.
Jacob Mills, a 6-foot-2 junior guard, got Carson rolling with three 3-pointers in the first quarter. Mills scored 20.
Will Hall, a 6-foot-6 transfer from Lake Norman, scored 17 points, while CP Perry scored 11.
Neve, Mills, Hall and Perry are averaging double figures. Neve and Mills have had two 20-point games in the early going.
