MOORESVILLE – Salisbury beat Pine Lake Prep 76-64 on Saturday in the Phenom Hoops Thanksgiving Tournament held at Lake Norman High.
Braylon Taylor scored 21 points to lead the Hornets (2-0). A senior, Taylor scored 20-plus 12 times last season and is the county’s leading returning scorer.
Blake Smith followed up his double-double on opening night with a career-best 19 points.
Freshman Royce Perkins scored 14, while Jon Ross added 13.
Those four players were in double figures in both of the Hornets’ first two games and likely will handle most of the scoring load.
Salisbury won in overtime on Friday against North Lincoln.
Salisbury returns to action on Monday night at home against A.L. Brown (2-1).
