The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency is offering $10 million in grants to nonprofits to protect against hate crimes.
The Nonprofit Security Grant Fund Program provides support for planning, training, equipment and technology upgrades at community centers, places of worship and nonprofits.
Institutions, groups and individuals targeted because of race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, disability, gender identity and gender bias are eligible to apply, the commission said.
The funds may be used for safety and security planning and training, vulnerability and threat assessments, equipment and technology or safety and security upgrades. Awards may range from $5,000 to $150,000.
Applying nonprofits must submit an application through SurveyMonkey by Jan. 12 for funds
