MURRAY – December seemingly announced its arrival with a burst of cold air Monday, leading the National Weather Service to issue a Winter Weather Advisory expiring at 9 o’clock this morning.
Justin Holland, Murray’s official government weather observer for the NWS’s Paducah office, said the advisory began at 6 p.m. Monday and that the majority of any potential precipitation should be finished well before the advisory ends at 9 a.m. Tuesday. However, he said it was extended to that time because of the potential for dangerous travel conditions. Although not much snow is expected, Holland noted that roads could still be hazardous, especially with it being the first wintry weather of the season.
