FOXBOROUGH – The New York Giants ’ 2-10 record looked deceiving. They came into Gillette Stadium having taken the Detroit Lions into overtime. They also lost to the Green Bay Packers by 7 points and the Chicago Bears by 4 points before that.
The Patriots , meanwhile, limped into Monday night’s matchup without two starting offensive linemen (Will Campbell and Jared Wilson) and two starting defensive tackles (Milton Williams and Khyiris Tonga ).
After nearly losing to the Cincinnati Bengals, it looked like Mike Vrabel’s team desperately needed a break.
Then, Monday night’s game started, and it was clear that the Patriots were firing on all cylinders. Instead of looking beaten up, Vrabel’s team looked energized and put on an impressive performance in front of their home crowd.
