Nationwide customers have woken up to a £772 boost on Tuesday morning - as the building society's latest house price index is released. Nationwide is the UK's largest building society and has branches in Birmingham .
Nationwide, which is rivalled by HSBC UK, Santander, Lloyds, Barclays, and more, says average house prices rose to £272998 from £272226 - a £772 uplift.
Robert Gardner, Nationwide's Chief Economist, said: “November saw a slight softening in the rate of annual house price growth to 1.8%, from 2.4% in October. However, prices increased by 0.3% month on month, after taking account of seasonal effects.
