A schoolgirl has undergone surgery after being attacked by a suspected XL Bully .

Kerris Gledhill, 16, from Liverpool , was walking with her miniature dachshund through Croxteth Park last Tuesday afternoon when she says the dog came charging down Beversbrook Road and attacked .

She said she has been left "traumatised" by the incident after the dog latched onto her leg and 'shook her like a toy'. Kerris told the Liverpool Echo : "We started walking back to our house, we were walking up Beversbrook Road, I had my headphones on. I noticed the dog in the middle of the street so I took my headphones off.
