Energy giant BP is pulling out of a second major Teesside project - leaving just one from an original three-part blueprint for the future of the region.

Alongside the £4bn NET Zero Teesside power plant and the green hydrogen producer HyGreen Teesside, the blue hydrogen facility H2Teesside was to play a key role in Teesside's future as an energy capital.

But HyGreen was scrapped in March and now H2Teesside has gone as well, leaving just the flagship NZTPower.

H2 was described by BP as 'one of a number of transformative projects that is developing in Teesside. The low-carbon energy produced by BP’s proposed projects in the region will play an important role in delivering on the country’s bold ambitions to boost energy security and achieve net zero. '
