Holy Ghost Prep (PA) opened its season with a 3-1 victory over Seton Hall Prep at Richard J. Codey Arena in West Orange.
Jake Smaron got Holy Ghost on the board first, scoring on an assist from Billy Harmar with 7:30 left in the first period. Just two minutes later, Chris Marshall extended the lead to 2-0 with a goal assisted by Chase Logue.
Logue added a goal of his own in the second period, scoring on an assist from Brady Flynn to give Holy Ghost a commanding 3-0 lead with 9:37 remaining in the period.
Seton Hall Prep finally got on the board with just 7.5 seconds left in the game when Christian Jaworski scored on an assist from John Renzullo, but it was too little too late.
John Botthof had a stellar game in goal for Holy Ghost (1-0), making 33 saves on 34 shots. Cayden Hoyler made
