SAN JOSE, California — Omar Vayas Duran, a 45-year-old from Delano, has been sentenced to six years and eight months in prison for conspiracy to distribute fentanyl and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Edward J. Davila, according to U.S. Attorney Eric Grant.

Court documents reveal that between September 23, 2020, and June 29, 2021, Duran conspired with Jesus Manuel Morfin Villa, a 31-year-old also from Delano, and others to acquire and distribute fentanyl. In June 2021, Duran supplied Morfin Villa with approximately 2,000 counterfeit oxycodone pills containing fentanyl for sale.
