A police helicopter was spotted circling over Willington last night in the search for a missing person.
The National Police Air Service (NPAS) was called to the County Durham town shortly after 8pm on Monday (December 1).
The helicopter was brought in shortly after 8pm, and circled the area for a while before travelling back to Newcastle.
An NPAS spokesperson said: "At 8.08pm a police helicopter crew from Newcastle were deployed to support Durham Police in a search for a missing person in the Willington area.
"Total flying time on the task was 43 minutes."
Durham Police confirmed the missing person has since been found.
