Tuesday morning brings wintry weather across the D.C. region, with rain, sleet and snow before changing to all rain later in the morning.

The wintry mix will gradually move from west to east, according to the National Weather Service.

But 7News First Alert Meteorologist Jordan Evans said mid-morning rain will melt away any accumulation, as temperatures hover between the upper 20s to lower 30s.

The Maryland State Highway Administration said on Monday that it pretreated all interstates and major routes in the Maryland suburbs of D.C., as well as Baltimore, Harford, Frederick, Carroll and Howard counties.

The Virginia Department of Transportation also said it prepared for the wintry weather, mobilizing snowplows Monday night.
