Coronation Street will kick off an emotional plot at the Metcalfe house next week, as Sally and Tim try to create some Christmas magic for the Michaelis kids . But things go awry when Sally makes a big mistake with upsetting consequences.

The Metcalfes kindly opened their home to Joanie, Shanice and Brody this year after their parents Mick and Lou Michaelis were both arrested . Though they've made some errors along the way, Sally and Tim have proven themselves to be caring and supportive foster parents.

This autumn, the couple had to make a difficult decision when they noticed Shanice being abusive towards her little sister . After a visit from social services, Shanice was sent to stay with her auntie for a while.
