BEIRUT, Lebanon – Pope Leo visited the shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon, focusing on the future of the Catholic Church in the region.
During his visit, Pope Leo listened to a priest, a nun and a domestic worker describe the suffering experienced by Christians and Muslims during recent conflicts.
Pope Leo arrived in Beirut on Sunday following a trip to Turkey that began the previous week. While in Turkey, he challenged Lebanon's political leaders to act as true peacemakers and set aside their differences.
