COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Much needed rain fell Monday night as expected with one to three inches of rain in most of the Valley. As rain tapers down Tuesday morning, it returns in a couple days with more rain in the forecast late in the week.

Rain is wrapping up Tuesday morning from west to east, but some occasional showers are still possible until mid to late morning. Otherwise, we’ll have clouds, perhaps some fog. It will be chilly and a bit breezy. The 40s this morning will give way to highs between 50 and 55 degrees. Some sun could peek through the clouds later in the day.

Drier air will have better luck arriving Tuesday night with decreasing clouds. Colder with temperatures early Wednesday near to a little below freezing. Most of us will be in the low 30s but some upper 20s are possibl
