A man has been reportedly shot in the leg and shoulder in the Marsh area of Huddersfield. Cops raced to Smiths Avenue in the Marsh area of Huddersfield at 8.01pm last night, December 1, after receiving reports a man had been shot.

The man, in his 30s, was found on New Hey Road and was taken to hospital with injuries which are described as serious but not life-threatening. One resident told ExaminerLive she saw "two men in balaclavas" who were running around a cul-de-sac in Lindley shortly before 8pm. She recalled hearing gunshots before armed police descended on the street.

Footage from the scene shows hordes of police swarming the area with one local describing hearing "two loud bangs" which he thought was fireworks but then thought it could be gunshots.
