A former Teesside Park casino could soon become a new swimming pool under new plans.
The unit, which has been empty since the former Rainbow Casino shut in 2016 , could be set to get a new lease of life under new proposals for company Swim! to move in.
While the wider part of the building is now home to Ninja Warrior UK, the 15,658 square foot unit has long been vacant and was put on the rental market last year.
Planning documents show how Swim!, which provides swimming lessons for kids aged zero to 11, would add a new glazed entrance to the unit if approved by Middlesbrough Council.
The unit, which was recently given a fresh lick of paint, was formerly a part of the old Gala Casino, which is believed to have first opened in the 1990s.
