President Donald Trump just hit a new low in his approval rating among independents, a new poll showed.
The latest Gallup poll , released Friday, showed Trump had just a 25% approval rating among independents. The figure, which is the lowest of his second term among this voting group, is eight percentage points lower than when the poll was last conducted in October.
Trump’s previous lowest approval rating among independents was 29% in July. The latest results signal potential trouble for Trump’s support among independents ahead of the 2026 midterm elections .
The Pew Research Center found that independents were divided between Trump and former Vice President Kamala Harris during the 2024 election, with 48% voting for Trump and 48% voting for Harris.
