COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A store employee was assaulted while confronting a robbery suspect overnight.
The crime was reported just after 1 a.m. Tuesday at a business in downtown Colorado Springs. The victim told police they had tried to stop the suspect, who was allegedly trying to take merchandise, and the suspect threatened them.
“A physical altercation ensued. After the assault occurred, the suspect took items from the business and left the scene on foot,” a CSPD lieutenant said.
Responding officers found the suspect a short time later and arrested him on charges of robbery and third-degree assault. He has been identified as Rodney Harris.
Police would not release the name of the business to 11 News, other than it was located in the 500 block of South Nevada near the interse
