THE UK Government is considering a ban on cryptocurrency donations to political parties.
Nigel Farage 's Reform UK were the first political party in Britain to accept donations in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies earlier this year, as part of a promised "crypto revolution".
Cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin have increased in popularity in recent years, with research suggesting around 12% of adults in the UK own or have owned crypto assets, up from 4% in 2021.
Officials are now considering measures to outlaw the use of crypto to fund UK political parties, according to several sources familiar with recent discussions on Labour's Elections Bill.
