Resident doctors in England have announced a five-day strike scheduled just before the Christmas period. This significant walkout will run consecutively from 7am on December 17 to December 22 and will include doctors at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.

The British Medical Association (BMA) states the strike is necessary due to the government's failure to offer a credible plan to fix a severe jobs crisis for junior doctors.
