Charlotte Dujardin with her horse, 'Valegro'
Charlotte Dujardin has paid tribute to her three-time Olympic gold medal-winning horse, Valegro, who has sadly passed away.
The duo achieved glory at the London 2012 Olympics, securing victories in both individual and team dressage events, and added another individual gold to their collection at Rio 2016.
Valegro earned the title of the most decorated dressage horse in British history - and a statue of the horse is in place in Newent.
However, Dujardin, now aged 40, was issued a year-long ban from the sport in December 2024 following an investigation into a video showing her "excessively" whipping a horse.
The announcement of Valegro's passing at the age of 23 marked Dujardin's first Instagram post since her suspension, reports Birmingham
