MORTON GROVE, IL - Talk about high expectations. We tried the top-ranked pizza in the entire country; a pie known for its thick, caramelized crust which did not disappoint.

Yelp ranked Pequod’s Pizza No. 1 on its 2024 list of the 100 Best Pizzas in America . On top of that, Pequod’s topped USA Today’s 10Best Pizza in Chicago list.

Pequod’s also received even more attention when it was featured on season 2 of the hit FX show, “ The Bear .”

Pequod’s has two locations: The original, opening in 1970, at 8520 Fernald Avenue in Morton Grove. The other pizzeria is at 2207 N. Clybourn Avenue in Chicago.

We tried the pizza from the Morton Grove location, which is a small, unassuming building located on a residential street. We highly recommend making a reservation.
