A man who was reported by members of the public after being seen carrying a knife was tasered by police i a busy town centre. Police responded to reports after the knifeman was spotted in LLangefni on Anglesey.

When police successfully located the man, he tried to run from officers and was chased to a nearby car park. Officers then tasered the man so that he could be safely disarmed and arrested.

He has now been jailed for 26 weeks. Police have not named the man, reports North Wales Live.

A spokesperson for North Wales Police said: "A man has been jailed for 26 weeks after carrying a knife in a busy town centre.

"Last month, community members reported their concerns about a man seen with a knife.
