A former Scottish soldier who has been training troops in Ukraine has been detained after being accused of working for Russia.
Ross David Cutmore, a former soldier and military instructor, had allegedly been working to supply Vladimir Putin’s agents with weapons to carry out assassinations.
The Record understands Cutmore, in his 40s, arrived in Kyiv in early 2024 to work as an instructor with Ukraine’s military.
He is believed to be from Dunfermline, but also to have lived in Rosyth.
He is currently in custody.
According to the SBU, the country's state security service, he ceased his work as a military trainer a few months after arriving in the country and offered his services to Russian intelligence agencies in exchange for money.
