Wood County dog owners have until Jan. 31 to order a 2026 dog license for their pooch.

License sales started Monday, according to Wood County Auditor Matthew Oestreich.

State law requires all owners of dogs three months of age or older to register their pup in the county in which the dog is kept.

Owners can get their dog a $16 one-year license, a $48 three-year license, or a $160 permanent license that will last for life of the dog. No refunds will be permitted, officials said.

Licenses can be purchased in person at the Wood County Auditor’s Office on the second floor of the county office building between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays or at the Wood County Dog Shelter.

They are also available online at doglicenses.us/OH/Wood/.
