Police in South Brunswick are searching for a man who robbed a woman he knew of her cell phone in the parking lot of a preschool on Monday morning.
The woman was dropping off her child at the The Sapling School on Route 27 in the Kendall Park section of town when Nathan Edwards Simpson pulled out a gun and demanded her phone, South Brunswick police said.
Simpson fled on foot following the 9 a.m. robbery. Police put a nearby school in a shelter-in-place while they searched for Simpson but could not find him.
Simpson, 45, is 6-foot-2 and about 200 pounds with green eyes and black hair. He also goes by the name “Bryan Spinelli” and was last seen wearing a black shirt and blue pants.
