LONG BEACH, Miss. (WLOX) - Less fortunate children are once again receiving a helping hand from the Gulf Coast Bicycle Club .

The organization partners with law enforcement in South Mississippi each year to distribute dozens of bicycles through the annual Kids’ Christmas Bike Drive.

David Lalejini is the club’s treasurer. He said donations for helmets and bicycles began on Black Friday and will end on Friday, Dec. 12.

“We know there are families that can’t afford that, and we want to be able to help them out. To me, this is the best event because it’s the one that you really end up feeling the best about,” Lalejini said.

All bikes will be divided among the Sheriff Departments in Stone, Harrison, and Jackson Counties. The bikes will then be given to children for Christmas.
