(Williston, ND) — The City of Williston is looking to increase water, sewer, and solid waste rates for residents. The higher rates will pay for system maintenance and expansion, among other services. In a press release, the city said “despite these adjustments, the City of Williston maintains some of the most competitive utility rates in North Dakota,” adding, “periodic adjustments to align with inflation and actual cost of service are necessary to ensure system reliability and regulatory compliance.” The new rates will take effect on January 1st, pending the Williston City Commission’s approval on December 9th. Summer rates will still be in effect in June, July and August of next year.
