WYOMING COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS)— A domestic disturbance in Wyoming County on Saturday evening led to the arrest of a local man after authorities say an argument escalated into threats involving both a firearm and a knife.

According to the West Virginia State Police, troopers were dispatched around 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 29, 2025, after a woman reported a disturbance involving her ex-husband, John Church.

Troopers met the victim at a separate location, where she told investigators that Church had been arguing with her “all day.” When she attempted to leave the residence, she said he followed her outside and approached her aggressively. Fearing for her safety, she drew a handgun.
