AUSTIN, Texas (KXAN) — Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton opened an investigation into global fast-fashion retailer Shein for allegedly violating state laws related to “unethical labor practices” and the sale of “unsafe consumer products,” a Monday press release said.

According to the release, the investigation will determine if Shein’s supply chain and manufacturing practices violate Texas law by using toxic or hazardous materials, misleading consumers about product safety and ethical sourcing. It will also look into the company’s data and privacy practices.
