Health authorities have cautioned that people could contract an "unpleasant" bug multiple times throughout the winter months. The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has clarified that having norovirus previously doesn't provide immunity and you could "get it again".
Commonly referred to as the winter sickness bug, norovirus is an extremely infectious condition that triggers vomiting and diarrhoea. Consequently, the NHS advises people to stay away from educational establishments and medical facilities for 48 hours following the end of symptoms.
