An insurance company is suing the City of Evansville nearly a year after a fire rekindled at a restaurant.
The flare-up caused thousands of dollars in damage.
The suit claims that the Evansville Fire Department didn’t fully extinguish a fire at Madelein’s Fusion Restaurant in December 2024.
The insurance company then had to pay out $ 1.2 million.
The city declined to comment on pending litigation.
