Ithink that I have been to more than 35 Hospice of the Panhandle’s Light Up A Life ceremonies by now. Each one is different, but it is always a privilege to be there, to speak, just as it is to continue to be president of the Board of Directors.
One year that I remember in particular is 2021. As I looked out in the crowd at all the faces at our Light Up ceremony, I was grateful beyond words. We were still in the throes of the pandemic. At Hospice, as the pandemic wore on, staff and volunteers worked their way through a tremendously difficult and uncertain time. I remain proud of the work all our employees and volunteers did that year against many odds, not limited to their own illnesses and losses and risks to themselves.
